Media Bias of Abortion

"If the pro abortionists were not in control of the press, I am convinced that not only would the debate on abortion be over by now (have we really even had a national debate?), but the prolife side would be victorious because we would have seen the pictures every night on television of what is taking place behind the doors of the abortion clinics and hospitals"

                                           --- Cal Thomas

In today's society, it seems that a great deal of what we learn comes from the mainstream media via newspapers and television.  Interviews with 240 journalists and editors in the media elite indicate that a full 90% of them approve of abortion for almost any reason.  Given this, is it any wonder tha

This "pro-abortion viewpoint," however, couldn't be further from the truth.  Overall, 71% of Americans oppose 97% or more of all abortions in the United States.

Here are some examples of media bias from the best seller "Prolife Answers to Pro Choice Arguments:"
  • The Los Angeles Times has required its writers to use the terms pro-choice and anti-abortion. (Think about how negative the term "anti" choice sounds compared with the universally accepted term, Pro-Life)
  • Lisa Myers of NBC said, " Some of the stories I have read or seen have almost seemed like cheerleading for the prochoice side."
  • Ethan Bronner of the Boston Globe said "I think that when abortion opponents complain about a bias in newsrooms against their cause, they're absolutely right."
  • Richard Harwood of the Washington Post said his paper's coverage of a prolife event was "shabby," and admitted, "This affair has left a blot on the paper's professional reputation."
  • David Shaw of the Los Angeles Times gives many illustrations of media bias on abortion, including this: "Abortion opponents are often described as 'militant' or 'strident."  Such characterizations are seldom used to describe abortion rights advocates, many of whom can be militant or strident -- or both."

Given this media bias, it's clear how our society has been swayed with misinformation.  Is it any wonder that many people are adamantly "for" abortion, yet possess so little knowledge about the true physical reality of the act itself?  Take a tour through AbortionTV, and learn what pro-abortionists and the media don't want you to see.
